Bard Bardex Lubricath Two-Way Tiemann Model Red Foley Catheter With 5cc Balloon Capacity provides for smoother insertion and enhanced patient comfort. Through its hydrogel coatings unique ability to absorb fluid, thus creating a hydrophilic cushion between the catheter surface and the urethra. It allows atraumatic insertion for enhanced patient comfort and resists the build-up of urine salts. The 5cc balloon provides excellent seating in the bladder to minimize leakage and irritation to the trigone. Bardex Red Rubber Catheter with Silver Hydrogel is urethral catheter coated in a silver alloy material that prevents encrustation and repels bacteria. The Bardex catheter with silver is designed for patient comfort and is clinically proven to prevent infections during use. Coated with a silver alloy for bacterial protection and hydrogel catheter comes complete with a 5cc balloon, 2 ports, a single drainage eye and a contoured coudé tip.

    What is a silver catheter?

    A  silver catheter is coated in a  silver alloy material that prevents encrustation and repels bacteria.  This helps to prevent the patient from getting urinary tract infections  while they’re using the catheter. The hydrogel coating on the tubing  helps the catheter become more user-friendly. It creates a cushioned  barrier between the walls of the urethra and bladder opening for easier  insertion and removal of this device.
